Borussia Dortmund Storm into Champions League Semi-Finals with Dramatic Comeback
Late Goals from Fullkrug and Sabitzer Seal Victory
Dortmund, Germany
Borussia Dortmund produced a stunning second-half comeback to beat Atletico Madrid 4-2 on Tuesday, securing their first Champions League semi-final spot in 11 years.
Niclas Fullkrug's 85th-minute strike broke the deadlock before Marcel Sabitzer's 90th-minute effort sealed the victory for the German side.
Dortmund had trailed 2-0 at halftime after goals from Mario Hermoso and Ángel Correa, but a stunning turnaround saw them score four goals in the final 30 minutes.
Youssoufa Moukoko's header in the 64th minute sparked the comeback, with Karim Adeyemi equalizing just two minutes later.
Sabitzer, who earlier had a penalty saved, played a pivotal role in Dortmund's victory, setting up both Fullkrug and Adeyemi's goals.
The win marks a remarkable achievement for Dortmund, who had not reached the Champions League semi-finals since 2013.
They will now face either Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the last four, with the first leg scheduled for the end of April.
