India Today's Mood of the Nation Poll Predicts Tight Race

State-Wise Breakdown of India TV-CNX Opinion Poll Projections

New Delhi: As the 2024 Indian general election approaches, the race between the ruling BJP-led alliance and the opposition INDIA alliance is expected to be a close one, according to the latest opinion poll by India Today. The survey, known as the "Mood of the Nation" poll, projects the INDIA alliance winning 53 seats, with the BJP-led alliance projected to win 47 seats.

The poll, conducted by the India Today Group and the Centre for Voting Opinion & Election Studies (CVoter), surveyed 120,000 people across the country from October 2023 to January 2024. It is considered one of the largest and most comprehensive opinion polls conducted in India.

The state-wise breakdown of the India TV-CNX Opinion Poll projections shows the following:

• YSRCP: 10
• TDP: 12
• BJP: 3
• Arunachal: BJP

The results of the poll have come as a disappointment for the ruling BJP, which was highly excited after the exit polls conducted after the fifth phase of voting. The BJP had been confident of winning a majority of seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
