Clay Panthers Meet NFL Athletes

Autographs, Selfies, and High-Fives

About 20 Central New York Panthers youth football players got autographs, selfies, and high-fives from professional football players on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at an event at Liverpool High School.

The NFL athletes, all either former or current Buffalo Bills players, included: running back Zack Moss, defensive tackle Ed Oliver, and cornerback Taron Johnson. The event was organized by the Bills and the Liverpool Athletic Department.

For many of the young Panthers players, it was a dream come true to meet NFL pros. "It was amazing," said 10-year-old Brayden Meeks, who plays running back and cornerback for the Panthers. "I got to meet Ed Oliver, and he signed my football. It was the best day ever!"

The NFL players were impressed by the young Panthers players' skills and enthusiasm.

"These kids are great," said Moss. "They have a lot of talent and potential. I'm excited to see what they can accomplish in the future."

The event was a great way to kick off the football season for the Panthers. The players are excited to get back on the field and start practicing for their upcoming games.

With football practices starting this week for many, the Panthers will have a chance to help replace the contributions of last year’s 8th-grade players who moved on to high school.
