Higher Costs Expected for Child Basic Security
Minister Paus Estimates 35 Billion Euro Expense

The initial funding request of 12 billion euros for the pet project of Family Minister Lisa Paus is no longer realistic. According to the Greens politician, the child basic security scheme will cost significantly more than previously assumed.
The draft law completed by Paus proposes initial costs of 35 billion euros. This translates to an increase of at least 20 euros per month for children, with the youngest receiving an additional 28 euros.
The new social welfare rates have only just been announced. For 2025, Paus anticipates expenses of 35 billion euros for child basic security. According to a report, the utilization and costs will climb in subsequent years.
